Soviet Space Cover

Do you think the Soviets covered up some of their failed manned space flights?
I'm not retarded, I don't think the moon landing or the space program was a conspiracy...But do you think that the Soviets, since they often times overlooked many safety regulations for their cosmonauts, may have had accidents from which their cosmonauts died? Perhaps, there were other men launched into space before Yuri Gagarin, who died on the launch pad, on the way in, or during the flight, and they Soviet government hid the facts from its citizens for propaganda purposes? The space program wasn't really open to the public. I mean people around the world didn't even know Yuri Gagarin was in space until half of his mission was over... What do you all think?
There is a wikipedia page about this, but as I'm sure many of you know, Wikipeda isn't 100% truth and is often biased...

The Soviets did cover up the death of Valentin Bondarenko, who died in 1961 in a fire during a ground test. There was also a cosmonaut named Grigoriy Nelyubov who was kicked out of the program and died in what was either an accident or a suicide, and the Soviets denied that he had ever been a cosmonaut at all. They also denied that they were trying to send men to the Moon, even though they were (they weren't successful because their N-1 launch vehicle kept blowing up). It's clear that the Soviets were willing to cover up many things, including cosmonaut deaths and technical failures, but information about Bondarenko and Nelyubov and the N-1 leaked out after the Cold War. No one has been able to prove that any cosmonauts died in secret space flights. There were some cosmonauts who died during space flights (Vladimir Komarov on Soyuz 1 and three men on Soyuz 11), but these deaths were well-known in the western world. Basically, the theory about lost cosmonauts is just based on rumors. It's an interesting story, but there doesn't seem to be much evidence supporting it.
